Barrier Integrity Index
The Barrier Integrity Framework is the analytical framework against which Hydra
Chronic conducts its assessments.
It evaluates whether a formulation is physiologically coherent for compromised skin
barriers – not whether it performs well in general, but whether its component logic
holds under the specific conditions of barrier-impaired skin.
Assessments are conducted across four dimensions. Each dimension is evaluated
independently against criteria derived from peer-reviewed dermatological and
pharmaceutical literature. The result is a documented analytical position.
THE FOUR DIMENSIONS
Barrier support – whether the formulation addresses the structural requirements of a
compromised barrier.
pH coherence – whether the formulation operates within the physiological pH range
relevant to barrier function.
Membrane compatibility – whether the component architecture is internally
consistent and free of physiological conflict.
Delivery logic – whether active components are positioned to reach their intended
site of action under barrier-compromised conditions.
